My Photography exhibition:

In May 2024 I will be holding my first ever photography exhibition, which highlights my project ‘Hidden Species’ If you want to learn more about that or even visit the exhibition check out this page for more information.

A quick summary of The Hidden Species Project:

The Hidden Species Project is a photography challenge I set myself at the start of April 2023 to photograph and educate the public on five British wildlife species that either go unseen day to day, have a bad publicity problem or otherwise fly under the radar when it comes to British Wildlife. This would then all be brought together in an interactive woodland exhibition in May 2024.

The five species chosen include:

  • Hazel Dormouse
  • Pipistrelle Bat
  • Red Wood Ant
  • Slow Worm
  • Buff tip Moth

Actually, starting to plan:

This YouTube video follows my first official site visit to the location of my exhibition in order to gather information on good locations, where things can be placed, logistics of the event and because I don’t like wasting opportunities in nature a little wildlife photography as well!

Wildlife bit:

On this trip I managed to find and photograph what I’ve been describing as the cutest and smallest bee species I have ever seen- A tawny mining bee! I also spotted some Red Wood ants warming up in the sunshine, as well as a Kingfisher (although this one zipped right past me down the river before I could even reach for my camera!).
